Self-care shouldn’t be restricted to just putting face masks on because it is definitely more than that. Here are 5 ways you can engage in self-care that are other than just face-masks and spa nights.
1. Start doing what you love more often:
Everybody has hobbies and there is always that one thing that everybody loves to do when they are bored. For me its sketching or painting. Not gonna lie, I know all of us have really busy schedule that we never get time to do what we love but trust me when I say this that it is really important to take out time for yourself and to do what you love. It gives you inner peace.
2. Say buh-bye to toxic people:
All of us have people around us that we know aren’t really good for us but we only have them around because of how attached we’ve gotten to them. Tell you what, once you start eliminating those people from your life, you’ll feel so much better because they’re weighing you down right now.
3. Disconnect from the world:
Just for a day or even an hour, switch off your phone, turn your screens off and sit and relax and think about yourself. THIS IS THE MOST RELAXING THING I’VE EVER DONE TBH.
4. Think about what you’re grateful for
: One of my friend told me about this thing she does. Every week or every night before going to bed list down things that you’re grateful for and also list down all the things that you liked about your day or week. This really works and I love doing this. Also gives me an extra journal entry.
5. Have a guilt free nap:
Last but not least! Now lets be real here, everybody loves to nap! But the thing is, since most of us have gotten so busy, we rarely get time to sleep for as much time as we want to. Try emptying some slots from your day and take a long, guilty free nap every once in a while.
Crossing my fingers and hoping that these work for you. If you have any self care practices that work for you then put them in the comment section down below!
