From Finding Virtual Love to a Handsome escape from reality’ EK JHOOTI LOVE STORY” .Post Churails fame, Zee 5 releases another Pakistani based web series, Ek Jhooti Love Story that features a love-oriented dimension of a cyberspace complimented with a lighthearted dramatic appeal.
Penned by Umera Ahmed, the story features two households looking for ideal matches for their kids respectively.
The story exceedingly outdoes a cliched love story in a way that it realistically narrates a typical desi family on a Rishta search and their stereotypical standards while finding life partners for their children. It perfectly films how an imperfect middle-class family has audacious standards for a perfect Rishta.
The story revolves around the character of Salma, played by a VJ turned actress Madiha Imam and Sohail, played by supremely versatile hunk, Bilal Abbass Khan.
Both of them are extremely choosy, obstinate, and don’t show a slight inch of compromise while looking for their perfect soulmates. They hail from a middle-class household and aspire to live an uncompromising lifestyle. However, this search escalates to creating fake profiles on a social site and exchanging conversations with their respective crushes. It is only later when their lives, eventually, unravel once reality hits home.
Overall, the script serves as an eye-opener to the viewers and expresses the reality of idealism and perfection to be a myth, the search of which should never go beyond limits.
The actors seem to have done justice to their roles. Both Bilal And Madiha managed to perform well and cast life to the storyline and scenes. Beo Raana Zafar and Mohammed Ahmed’s chemistry as Imam’s parents have also been a treat to the viewer’s eyes. Hina Bayat who plays Sohail’s mother is lovable and the rest of the retinue including Mariam Saleem, Kiran Haq, Srha Asghar, Fawad Khan, Furqan Qureshi, and Kinza Razzak play their parts quite well too.
All credits to Mehreen’s Jabbar’s powerful direction and Umera Ahmed’s wonderful script that adds to the strong script. There’s a fair share of the show’s cinematography and music that adds to its appeal and can be a handsome treat to the audience’s eyes and ears. While every frame seems well utilized, EJLS manages to score well with amusing dialogues, delightful sound and captivating storyline.
