I’m not saying that the following list of foods is healthy in any way, but aren’t we all a little bored of pakoras, samosas, and other fried items by now? Why not go for something different to have in iftaar today, which is easy to make and not-boring at the same time? Here are foods you can have instead of pakoras this Ramadan:
Foods You Can Have Instead of Pakoray this Ramadan:
1. Bread Pizza
If you’re craving homemade pizza in iftaar and don’t have time or energy to make the pizza dough, try the next best thing. Get a slice of bread and cover it with your favorite pizza toppings and cheese. And the best part is, you don’t even have to struggle with an oven, you can just microwave it until the cheese melts and enjoy.
2. Spaghetti/Pasta
There’s a lot of ways you can go with this. If you’re a pasta lover like me, you cannot resist making your favorite pasta dish in iftaar. So, boil some pasta beforehand and just mix it up with your favorite sauce and seasonings right before iftaar.

In my humble opinion, Ramadan is incomplete without a fruit chaat. Cut up small pieces of your favorite fruits preferably ones that won’t go bad soon. Add some orange juice, lemon juice, and chaat masala and you’ve got yourself a delicious bowl of fruity goodness. Add some cream if you’re feeling a little adventurous.
4. Sandwiches
If you’re tired of feeling bloaty and lazy after iftaar, sandwiches are the best way to go. Instead of stuffing yourself with fried foods, get some bread and cucumbers and make yourself a refreshing club sandwich. You can also use brown bread and vegetables of your choosing.

5. Chicken Skewers
This just might be my favorite thing to have in iftaar. You can marinate the chicken pieces however you like and fry them with bell peppers and onions. You can also grill them right before iftaar for a smokey flavor which I absolutely love!
Iftaar doesn’t have to mean just pakoras and samosas, you can get as creative as you want and come up with plenty of dishes. It is also a great way to have those appetizers you’ve been dying to try out. The possibilities truly are endless here!
