Netflix, the popular streaming giant, has cut prices for audience in Pakistan. The prices for both Standard and Premium plans has been cut by Rs. 400. This is great news for all Pakistani subscribers. So what are the details?
Prices drop in Pakistan
Netflix has taken the decision to slash prices for Pakistani viewers in order to attract larger audiences and to maximize revenue from the country. Previously, viewers were paying 1200 PKR for the Standard account and 1500 PKR for the Premium account. So after reduction, viewers will get to enjoy the Standard plan for 800 PKR and Premium plan for 1100 PKR respectively.
However, other countries such as New Zealand, Netherland and Spain will witness a price hike in Netflix subscriptions.
Thus, Netflix is experimenting with different price offerings in different countries to allure customers to watch more, especially in developing countries. Some of its mobile plans in India and Pakistan are examples of this scheme.
Good News
Hence, this is good news for watchers in our country. Many shows are exclusively available only on Netflix since they can be banned on local channels. Sometimes special documentaries and popular series of several shows pull large audiences to the private video service. So users can now plug into top trending shows such as Squid Game, Money Heist, House of Secrets amongst many others.
