The report gives specifics, including the fact that, in contrast to previous Sony handhelds, this new console will not be a standalone device. Instead, it will allow users to stream PS5 games onto the handheld.
This new handheld console feature is in line with Sony’s remote play, which lets users stream PS5 games to laptops, tablets, and even smartphones.
Sony’s Next Release Could be a Handheld Gaming Console
With an 8-inch touchscreen LCD, built-in speakers, a volume button, and an audio jack, the new handheld console is likely to resemble the PS5 controller.
Since Gaming Insider’s report doesn’t say anything about the device’s specs or capabilities, it’s almost impossible to guess how it will work.
It is rumored that this new Sony handheld console will be available by the end of 2024, possibly in conjunction with the eagerly anticipated PS5 Pro.
