Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, made reference to a conference held at the National Skills University (NSU) to discuss the significance of promoting education in our country and the ways in which it can ensure long-term growth. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister of Education and Professional Training, stated: Indeed, we must prioritize education and invest in individuals.
Bilawal, a politician with a high level of education, emphasized the significance of education, praised the role that educators and educators play in the country, and asserted that he always tries to support them. He stated,
Mr. Hussain said, “Since I took charge in April of this year, my top priority has been to promote skill education. It is imperative for us to transform our education system in accordance with modern trends.” He also stressed the need to focus on the quality of education rather than the quantity of education.
According to Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, the current administration was promoting skill-based education and placing an emphasis on it.
We must fundamentally alter our educational system to reflect contemporary trends. The government was taking concrete steps to set up an environment that was good for education.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr. Mohammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of NSU, and a large number of teachers and students also attended the event.
In recognition of the significance of education for peace and development, the United Nations General Assembly established January 24 as the International Day of Education in December 2018. This serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to ensure that every girl and boy has access to a high-quality education, which is their right and provides them with a ladder out of poverty and a path to a bright future.
According to Mr. Iqbal, the shift from degree-based education to skill-based education has altered educational realities.
He stated that Vision 2025 also established the National Curriculum Council and initiated reforms to the national curriculum. However, he claimed that the reforms agenda was “controversial” under the previous administration.
He stated that four crucial issues—reforms to the curriculum, teacher training, examination, and madrassah reforms—needed to be addressed immediately because they were included in Vision 2025; however, the projects were unfortunately halted by the previous administration.
In his message, the former president Asif Ali Zardari stated: The PPP’s manifesto includes the phrase “education for all.”
“Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto established educational establishments throughout the nation. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto advised students to investigate computer technology-related knowledge. Waseela-i-Taleem, a low-income education program, was started with the help of the Benazir Income Support Program. Mr. Zardari stated, “The BISP education program’s objective is to educate children of citizens with low incomes.”
In contrast, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Speaker of the National Assembly, stated in his message: Education is crucial to the growth of both individuals and nations because it serves as the foundation of every society. Today, we recognize the power of education to change lives and create a world that is more peaceful and prosperous.
Minister Bilawal Bhutto has also invited the leaders and dignitaries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), whom India has invited to meetings of the eight-member group in the coming months.
In a similar vein, an invitation to the Pakistani Chief Justice’s office was sent for the March meeting of Chief Justices of SCO states that India will host. According to people familiar with the situation in Islamabad, there has been no official confirmation from the Pakistani side regarding whether Bhutto Zardari and Bandial will attend the meetings.
Since Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered to hold talks with India and stated that he asked the leadership of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to assist in bringing the two countries to the negotiating table, the invitation to Bhutto Zardari has received more attention. However, after that, Sharif’s office said that any talks would be contingent on India restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
