Pakistani dramas manage to keep viewers’ attention despite the fact that they are spoiled for choice nowadays. With the development of the Pakistani television business. There have been certain changes in the manner dramas are produced. And the length of time they are broadcast. While the expansion in the number of networks and production houses has provided consumers with more dramas to watch. It has also resulted in more rivalry. There was a time when Indian dramas were known for airing for long periods of time. Whereas Pakistani plays were adored by fans on both sides of the border. Because they concluded before the 20-episode mark. All of that changed when Pakistani producers learned they could make more money by stretching. And dragging programmes, particularly those with large audiences.
Even the best Pakistani dramas nowadays drag, so when one ends without dragging, it comes as a nice surprise to the audience. Despite the fact that dragging dramas is common. Certain drama makers have managed to drag plays without losing track. There were other other dramas that began as amusing and engaging. But quickly veered off course and were spoiled by dragging. The plots were clearly lacking, and most of these dramas were dragged by the usage of the OST, flashback scenes. And even the introduction of new songs when the drama should have ended at that time. One of the main reasons why these great Pakistani shows were damaged. By dragging was because they were gaining TRPs and people were becoming addicted to them. Most of the people who adored these shows began to criticise them once they were dragged. And they were no longer interested in watching them.
Here’s a rundown of the 2021 dramas that were dragged out unnecessarily:
Azmaish
Nobody could have predicted that this drama would live up to its name. Yes, the drama series Azmaish lived up to its name and became an Azmaish for the people that tuned in. When the drama became successful, it was evident that the producers intended to not only air the double episodes. But also to convert it into a soap opera that lasted virtually the entire week. That’s when the tale ceased making sense and the episodes became loaded with events. And scenarios involving secondary people.

When the drama first started, it seemed promising. As it depicted the storey of a girl battling in a household where she was undesired and denied her basic rights. Shiza’s character drew a lot of attention and was convincingly acted by Yashma Gill. Yet, the audience’s desire to see Shiza’s troubles addressed and resolved remained unmet. Her loving father was so ignorant to all the negativity and poison. That he never truly knew how he should treat his daughter and assist her find the brightness. That was missing from her life, which was frustrating. Shiza proceeded to cause suffering after pain, and when she was finally exposed, her father conveniently turned a blind eye rather than assisting her in dealing with her problems.
Amish achieved a lot of recognition and success, but the story’s goal was lost when they decided to add superfluous sequences of Nimra’s biological father. Played by Rashid Farooqi, and Basit’s brother and his wife.
Dunk
Dunk had all the ingredients to become one of the year’s most unforgettable dramas. Even before it premiered, Dunk was dogged by controversy. With viewers dissatisfied with the fact that the show’s producer, Fahad Mustafa, wanted to highlight the abuse. That men face in society. He stated that he wanted these tales to be heard as well. Which caused much discussion. Nonetheless, it garnered a lot of attention for Dunk, and given the ensemble cast that was a part of the production. Fans were willing to give it a try, only to be disappointed as the storey progressed.

Dunk Started Off On A High Note
With a unique concept and top-notch acting. But it fell short of expectations since the storey never progressed. And was stuck in a loop for the majority of the time. Dunk had become stagnant, and it was the same pattern that had been followed since Professor Humayun’s death. With Amal torturing Haider and Haider silently bearing the brunt of it. The performance of Bilal Abbas Khan and Sana Javed was Dunk’s only saving grace. The fact that the audience got to watch Bilal Abbas Khan and Azekah Daniel in new roles was also a benefit. This drama received the same approach as Cheekh, in which the tale was wholly one-sided. And everything was abruptly wrapped up at the last minute.
The conclusion, in which Haider chose to take matters into his own hands in order to punish Amal, was likewise inappropriate. The creators of the drama series Dunk had a brilliant storyline. But it was lost due to poor execution. There was a time in the drama when there was only one relevant line per episode. With the rest being filled with flashbacks, passing shots of the characters, and excessive use of OST. Dunk was the epitome of fantastic drama handled badly and dragged unnecessarily!
Fitoor
Fitoor, the drama serial, had the potential to be one of the best dramas of the year if a few tweaks had been made. Unfortunately, they chose the Geo-TV approach, and therefore wrecked the drama with their own hands. Fitoor promised a distinctive new on-screen pair, but things between them went sour. And they were remembered for all the wrong reasons. The slow pace and slowest storytelling were the first things. That spoiled the drama-watching experience. There were so many episodes where they had nothing to show. But a scene or two and had to rely extensively on flashbacks.
When the drama first began, it was intriguing to see a young woman like Dilnasheen trying her hardest to make the most of her life. But it quickly devolved into a typical’sazishi’ drama, with her oh-so-perfect husband buying everything. That was sold to him against his wife in the name of ‘ghairat’ and ‘izzat.’ As much as the author tried to highlight Dilnasheen’s error. It was difficult to perceive Haider as a victim as well.
The Most Inequitable Aspect Of The Storey
Was witnessing Dilnasheen lose everything while Naimal. The one who had conspired against her, returned to her husband, who now had nothing but love to offer his wife. Haider was portrayed as a victim who deserved nothing but love and respect from his wife.
Yet he came across as a weak man who couldn’t stand up for her. And his judgement was still tainted by his past and feelings for his cousin. Fitoor’s execution was vexing to say the least. With individuals just not stating what they needed to convey. Dilnasheen’s family’s open contempt for her. As if she were not their own flesh and blood, was another strange facet of the storey. Hiba Bukhari and Faysal Qureshi did an excellent job in their roles. The final product was so messed up that it completely wrecked what might have been one of their best productions!
Mohlat
The drama serial Mohlat had a standard plot, but it had enough going for it to be entertaining. In the beginning, it was fast-paced and extremely engaging. Despite the typicality that writers utilise to hook viewers, the characterizations were strong enough to keep viewers captivated. Mohlat was one of the finest dramas that aired on Geo this year, with a certain element of surprise. The drama’s overall entertainment value was also enhanced by the performers and execution.

Kahan hain Sensor board waley?
Samira Fazal certainly knows how to entice viewers, but 7th Sky Entertainment. Regrettably succeeds in dragging every single drama to the point. Where the OST is more important than the storey at any given time! Like the majority of the other dramas on our list. This one, too, lost its attraction after 20 episodes because the tale became monotonous. And the finale was as predictable as it could be!
Mohlat is the type of drama that may be readily enjoyed if viewers opt to watch it online. And are prepared for it to be stretched to the point where you aren’t looking forward to the finale!
Pehli Si Mohabbat
Pehli Si Mohabbat, created by IDream Entertainment, was perhaps the only serial this year that gave great. And meaningful entertainment for several weeks. Faiza Iftikhar, the program’s creator, skilfully incorporated social messages into an engaging drama. The trailers for Pehli Si Mohabbat implied an emotional love storey. But the film turned out to be much more. This was the first time Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali have worked together in a television programme. Pehli Si Mohabbat was their comeback drama serial after both of them had taken an extended vacation from television.

The starring stars and larger-than-life promos were important in attracting viewers. But after a few weeks, the well-written and meaningful storyline became the main attraction for viewers. Pehli Si Mohabbat featured some of the best supporting characters we’ve seen in recent plays. And it was a social drama that emphasised the need of consent without being preachy. It called into doubt the commonly held belief in arranged marriages. The well-crafted and well-integrated screenplay kept the audience engaged and eager for more. Some of the drama’s scenes were so dramatic that they left an indelible memory.
Despite The Fact
That the supporting characters were frequently depicted defying preconceptions. Aslam and Rakhshi’s storey remained the focal point of the film for many reasons.
Pehli Si Mohabbat, despite having so much going for it was one of the most watchable dramas this year that was dragged beyond imagination! Even the most devoted fans who were emotionally immersed in the tale eventually abandoned the play. Eager for the drama to end so they could binge-watch it online. It was the type of drama that could have easily been the best drama of 2021. If it hadn’t been dragged out in the middle and especially towards the finish.
Wafa Be Mol
Wafa Be Mol is presently airing, and it may safely be described as the “Nand” of 2021! Although the plot is predictable. The drama has become popular as well as entertaining thanks to a brilliant cast. A fast-paced 20-plus-episode run, and twists and turns that are suitable for a commercial hit. The storey captivated viewers for several weeks. In addition, the fact that this programme broadcast five days a week made a significant difference. Behroze Sabzwari’s character and performance have gotten a lot of attention. And praise for playing a role unlike any other that has been seen before. Shaheer’s character in the show is a welcome change of pace.
He embodies the ideal of a good male lead and balances out the poison of the other male character, Azar. Arez Ahmed’s portrayal of this character is without a doubt one of his greatest. Even in a negative character. Zainab Qayoom is funny. Hina Javed’s role adds a new dimension to the storey.
Even though Wafa Be Mol remains somewhat compelling, it is being stretched to the point that, if it does not end soon, it will be yet another case of a watchable drama going entirely off the rails. Hania’s unwavering devotion to her do-nothing spouse is very irritating to say the least! This character is passable because to Komal Meer’s cinematic adaptation, but it is far from the most impressive character in the show. We’re hoping Wafa Be Mol will be finished in a few episodes.
